EPSU Executive: Internal Decision-Making
EPSU’s Executive Committee is responsible for determining policies in between Congresses and meets at least once per year. Representation of unions is on a country basis. It is led by EPSU’s President Mette Nord (Fagforbundet, Norway) , and General Secretary, Jan Willem Goudriaan. The Vice-Presidents are Françoise Geng (CGT Santé Action Sociale France), Thomas Kattnig (Younion, Austria), Liz Snape (Unison, UK) and Anatoliy Domnikov (HWURF, Russia).
Four Standing Committees focus the technical and vocational / sectoral work of EPSU:
- Health and Social Services (HSS)
- Local and Regional Government (LRG)
- National and European Administration (NEA)
- Public Utilities (UT)
EPSU publishes our key priorities for the European elections. Much more than a list of demands, EPSU first and foremost calls for a stronger commitment from the EP to protect and promote the democratic values and solidarity mechanisms that have shaped the European project.
A large EPSU delegation joined hundreds of other trade unionists from across Europe to celebrate 50 years of struggle for Europe’s workers and people. We ended the ETUC Congress with the election of a new team and the adoption of an action plan titled ‘Together for a Fair Deal for Workers in Europe’.
Union leaders from across Europe send a powerful message of solidarity to Europe’s public service workers
Europe’s public service workers are showing in many different ways that they expect significant pay increases to value the work they do for society, to compensate for high inflation and to show respect for their dedication during the very difficult period of COVID-19. They kept public services running. Strikes and industrial actions continue to take place across Europe.
