(21 February 2020) We condemn the brutal attack on the people of Hanau, Wednesday 19 February. In this German town in which people from different origins and beliefs lived peacefully together, 10 people were killed while others were wounded. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the families, friends and co-workers of those killed and injured.
The attacker had racist and extreme-right sympathies. We stand together with the German unions and German society in our defense of democracies and our values. We stand together to stop the racism in our societies. EPSU has sent its sympathies and solidarity to the German affiliates.
