Municipal and state sector agreements follow cross-sector deal

Following on from the negotiations on the one-year extension to the cross-sector collective agreement, unions in the state and municipal sectors have agreed similar arrangements. Local government salaries will be go up by €16 from February 2016 where basic pay is no more than €3,404.26. Higher salaries will rise by 0.47%. The collective agreement for central government follows along the same lines. Basic salaries will see a rise from the beginning of February 2106 by €13, but in real terms this will mean an increase in salaries of €16 euro a month. There will be a 0.43% increase for those with a salary of more than €3,023 euro a month they can expect to see a 0.43 per cent rise.

Pay deals agreed in municipal and state sectors

Finland

Unions in the state and municipal sectors have managed to secure improved offers from the employers. In the municipal sector there will be a 1.2% rise on 1 May 2011 plus 0.8% for local negotiations. In addition, a €100 bonus for many employee groups - will be paid in May. Overall, the cost impact of the agreement is 2.4%, in line with the projected rate of inflation. The agreement expires at the end of 2011. In the state sector wages and salaries will be raised by 1.3% backdated to 1 February 2011. On 1 May 2011 there will be a locally negotiated increase of 0.5% and 0.2% as an equality

Cross-sector agreement addresses public sector pay

Government, trade unions and employers signed a new cross-sector agreement on 31 March that includes a wide range of provisions, among them three key points: adoption of the International Labour Organization Centenary Declaration on the Future of the World of Work; amendments to the Constitution covering the special role of social partnership in the regulation of social and labour relations; and the need to take into account the pandemic when formulating measures to protect workers.
