Negotiating the best deal at every level
Collective bargaining is a core activity of trade unions. EPSU’s affiliates negotiate with employers at workplace, sector and national levels to deliver better pay and conditions for public service workers. EPSU has two main tasks; firstly to contribute to the improvement of pay and working conditions for all public service workers in Europe, and secondly to act as a European information point so that EPSU affiliates are aware of trends in public service negotiations. On 3 June the European Commission launched the second stage consultation on potential legislation on fair minimum wages. EPSU convened an online working group on 19 June to discuss the key issues and the draft response to the consultation from the ETUC. There were 29 participants from EPSU affiliates in 15 countries.
