Norway: Expansion of collective agreement in energy
Norway recently enacted a historic expansion of its collective agreement in electrical sector roles, making key protections legally binding for all workers, including foreign and temporary ones. Beginning November 1, 2024, this “general application” covers minimum wage standards, overtime pay, a 37.5-hour workweek, and allowances for travel and accommodation, benefiting all electricians, line workers, and related technicians, regardless of union membership.
