(24 January 2017) Workers and others continue the protests against CETA in actions across Europe 21 January. From Madrid to Riga demonstrations underlined what the impact of the trade agreement between Canada and the EU would mean. Public service and industrial unions, environmental and consumer organisations, municipalities and social action groups, all argue that this agreement should not pass. MEPs better listen to the voice of so many rather than to the vested interests of corporate lobbies.
The European Parliament has crucial votes on CETA on 24 January in its international trade committee and in plenary 14-15 February 2017. EPSU continues lobbying to say no, and argue for progressive and fair trade.
