Working Group Electricity Social Dialogue Committee meets

Delegations of employers and trade unions met to consider the work in progress, 14 March 2005, Brussels.




The work programme 2005 was finalised.









Other issues considered:



- Follow up to the Equality and Diversity Study and Conference: the Steering Committee of the project will be requested to consider the recommendations and prepare a project on an equality toolkit which should include targets, equality audit etc.



- Telework: evaluation of the implementation of the inter-sectoral agreement is foreseen for 2005. Eurelectric will collect the texts of agreements reached.




- Employment study: a further exchange of views took place with the representative of the Commission. The employers and trade union underlined that the study should be useful contribution to the work of the social dialogue committee. This study will commence in September. A steering committee of the social partners will accompany it. This will also include Eurogas.




- Corporate Social Responsibility: texts on CSR will be collected. A project proposal to obtain funding to compare the different texts and CSR reports will be prepared for the June plenary meeting, 22 June 2005.




- Communication on Restructuring: this is foreseen for April. It was agreed to propose to the Commission to make a presentation in the June plenary meeting.




- Skill Needs: both sides discussed to give more urgency to this issue. Eurelectric is considering how the joint text has been dealt with in the industry. Progress report to be given to the 22 June plenary meeting.




- Health and Safety: discussion on a working group took place. Areas to be covered: update of the previous statement and including new areas, situation in new Member States to be regarded, visibility to increase.
