Project "Promoting Employers' Social Services Organisations in Social Dialogue" (PESSIS I) (2012)

Brussels, 20 September 2012

EPSU has been involved as the trade union partner in the project "Promoting Employers’ Social Services Organisations in Social Dialogue" (PESSIS), running from January to September 2012 and coordinated by the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD). EPSU has disseminated information on the project, its objectives, contents and outcomes, amongst its affiliates and also intervened in the final conference held in the EESC on 22 June 2012.

PESSIS has been presented and discussed at three meetings of EPSU's Working Group on Social Services on 15 September 2011, 29 March 2012 and 24 October 2012 as well as at the Sectoral Social Dialogue Meeting on Local and Regional Governments on 12 September 2012. In order to further assess the outcome and to decide on possible next steps in a process to cover the sector of social services by structures of European sectoral social dialogue EPSU will organise, on 13 March 2013 in Brussels, a seminar with its affiliates represented in the sectors "health and social services" and "local and regional government".
