The FSAP-CCOO union is calling for union reps in the federal administration to assemble outside the Director General's office on 19 October to put pressure on the administration to come to the negotiating table. Around 70,000 workers are covered by this collective agreement and there has been no progress since the union presented its initial demands in May.

Public sector unions call for negotiations
Nine public sector trade union organisations - CGT, CFDT, FO, UNSA, FSU, Solidaires, CFTC, CFE-CGC, FAFP - have come together to call on the prime minister to open negotiations over salaries, careers and promotion in the public sector. The unions argue that recent government statements have not created a very good climate for talks and want confirmation from the prime minister that the government is not proposing to put a block on career advancement or bonus payments. Union calls for negotiations over reforms
In response to the latest report from the Commission for Reform of the Public Administration, the CCOO confederation has criticised the government for failure to consult or negotiate over any of the issues being dealt with by the Commission. The Commission was set up at the end of 2012 to examine how to streamline administrative procedures and create more "efficient" public service. The union argues that many of the proposals included in the report have serious implications for the rights and working conditions of public sector workers but none have been discussed with the trade unions. MPs back union calls for negotiations
The FNV union is pleased that a vote in Parliament provides it with support for renewed negotiations covering civil servants. Union negotiator Marco Ouwehand says the unions are ready to negotiate to provide a collective agreement for the 120000 civil servants after 1700 days without an agreement but they want to see a serious offer on the table from Minister Stef Blok.
