New framework agreement in central government administrations

The sectoral social dialogue committee for central government administrations has signed its first framework agreement. The agreement for quality service in central government includes a number of key commitments to, among others, efficient public services, equity and integrity, quality of life at work, trade union rights, communication and transparency in relation to users and in the relationship between employers and employees. The text of the agreement is available in French, German, Czech, Romanian, Greek, Spanish and Italian.

New framework agreement at Veolia

(April 2017) Services union ver.di has negotiated a new framework agreement with the Veolia waste and environmental company which it sees as a landmark agreement in a sector which has seen a substantial erosion of collective bargaining coverage with intense wage competition. Around 4500 employees will be covered by the agreement which will include rules on working time, leave, additional payments and retirement and other social provisions.

Municipal union backs central framework agreement

The JHL public services union is calling for a new cross-sectoral framework agreement when the current local government agreement expires in February 2014. The union argues that a labour market framework with the participation of the government would best support economic growth and stability, as well as employment. It adds that the pay settlement should include a general pay increase and that it should take account of the need to maintain the economic situation of municipalities. Furthermore, JHL points out that structural changes in municipalities must be considered in collective bargaining
