(14 December 2016) The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) has elected Katja Lehto-Komulainen as its Deputy General Secretary, replacing Veronica Nilsson who is standing down for family reasons. EPSU supported Katja and we look forward to work with her. Katja comes from the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) and was Head of International Affairs. She was proposed by Jarkko Eloranta, the President of SAK and formerly one of the EPSU Executive Committee members as President of JHL.
We said goodbye to Veronica who got a long ovation for her contributions to the work of the European trade union movement. Veronica has worked briefly for EPSU in the past as well.
