Belgian unions organise a national strike in the non-profit, 21 October

The unions organise the strike as part of their campaign to get the government to honour its agreements, to improve pay, for 25.000 new jobs, for supplementary pensions, for additional compensation of overtime, nightwork and weekend service. All EPSU affiliated unions organising workers in both public and private non-profit organisations will participate. The non-profit are hospitals, resthomes etc. There will be demonstrations in several cities. EPSU has sent a letter of solidarity, backing the unions' claim for more wages. The government is arguing there is no money available.
