Several results of the electricity social dialogue committee

The employers (Eurelectric) and the trade unions met on 15 December to consider a full agenda. Statements were adopted on:

Corporate Social Responsibility

The statement sets out the criteria for further work on the issue focusing mainly on the social pillar.

The social partners endorsed the intersectoral agreement on stress and committed to implement the statement for the electricity sector.

South East Europe

The Commission is currently negotiating a South East European Energy Community. The European social partners argue that the employers and trade unions from the countries concerned should have the opportunity to be engaged in the social dialogue committee and profit from the work that has been done, including the experience with restructuring.

Workprogramme

The social partners also adopted their work programme for 2005. It includes work on CSR, monitoring the implementation of the (inter-sectoral) telework agreement, work on SEE Energy Community and considering how to implement the statement on skill needs.



Following the joint seminar (14 December) on equality and diversity, a working group was mandated to draw the conclusions from the joint study and consider practical ways to address equality and diversity issues, increasing awareness and promoting dialogue.
