EPSU works with affiliates to support Spanish nurses in Germany

EPSU has been supporting German affiliates ver.di and Spanish affiliates FES-CCOO and FSP-UGT in a joint effort to defend Spanish nurses working in Germany. It emerged that the nurses were not being paid according to the collective agreement with hourly rates of pay of €9 rather than €13.50 or €14.50.

Trade unions in the prisons sector in Spain - CCOO, UGT and Acaip-Uso - have been running a major campaign of mobilisation to put pressure on prison service management to negotiate to tackle major problems related to pay, understaffing, an ageing workforce and increased violence.
