An annual review of collective bargaining and social dialogue will take place at the annual conference in December. In order that the annual report on collective bargaining has as broad as possible information on pay and conditions in the public services across Europe we need you to send in your completed questionnaires. The questionnaires are available in English, French, German, Spanish and Swedish. Please contact [email protected] for copies.
EPSU is involved in an eight-country project (digiqualpub) that is looking at the impact of digitalisation on public services and public service workers with a focus on public administration, health and electricity. The eight countries covered are: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Spain. If you are from these countries then you can participate in the survey and encourage your members and other workers to complete the questionnaire which is available in all eight languages on the project website.
The EIRO industrial relations observatory has published its annual review of working time developments, including information on the civil service. In 2011, average collective agreed weekly working time in the European Union stood at 38.1 hours with agreed normal annual working time averaging nearly 1,720 hours. Of the three sectors examined, retail recorded the longest average agreed normal weekly working hours with 38.3 hours, followed by the chemicals sector with 37.9 hours and the civil service with 37.6 hours.
