A basic hourly increase of NOK 1 (worth NOK 1950 annually €245) and NOK 0.5 per hour per employee allocated to an equal pay pot are the key elements of the latest agreement negotiated between the Spekter employers’ organizations and unions in the LO and YS confederations. Spekter covers around 190 firms with 180,000 employees in a range of sectors but mainly health, transport and energy.

The three main union organisations in the private health sector have finally signed an agreement covering the period 2008-2009 covering the 3,800 workers employed in the 28 institutions run by the Don Gnocchi foundation. The agreement brings salary increases in line with those in the public sector and the unions hope that this will lead to similar deals with the other private health organisations, Aris and Aiop. Unions welcome three-year deal in electricity sector
The three unions in the electricity sector - Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil - have signed a new three-year agreement covering 50000 employees. Workers will see a EUR 104 increase in pay, paid in three instalments, topped up with EUR 15 as a productivity bonus and EUR 5 related to welfare benefits. There will also be a EUR 100 lump sum paid this year. The agreement includes initiatives to improve health and safety, to ensure contractors are covered by the agreement along with several other measures benefiting working parents and women workers.
Union welcomes deal on pay and jobs in waste sector
The FNV trade union has welcomed a new two-year agreement covering 7000 workers in the waste and environment sector. Pay will increase by 6% over the two years but with a EUR 900 flat-rate increase in the second year it will mean that lower paid workers will see wages rise by 7.5%. There is also a commitment to provide permanent contracts for 360 temporary workers, to reduce hours for older staff while taking on young workers and paid partner leave at the birth of a child will now be a minimum of four weeks.
