10th Meeting of the EPSU Youth network, another success

(30 August 2019) On June 1st and 2nd this year, on the eve of the 10th EPSU congress, the 10th EPSU Youth network meeting took place with almost 50 participants. The second biggest ever meeting of the EPSU Youth over the years.

The event had representatives from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and apologies from several others like the UK or the Russian Federation.

Marc Meinardus addressed the meeting about the collaboration between EPSU and the Frederich Ebert Stiftung and the work of the Foundation to renew and regenerate the trade union movement through youth initiatives.

Also Joe O’Connor (member of the network for Ireland) introduced Kevin Callinan from FORSA (the acting General Secretary) to explain their work in the youth field as well as the challenges that the trade union movement is facing and the need to link you with other youth movements like the Friday for future as well as how youth has changed the political landscape with the homosexual divorce referendum and the legalization of abortion.

The meeting turned around the EPSU Youth survey with several debates and presentations (attached below) and the preparations of the Youth network for the Youth resolution at congress (jointly presented with the Nordic constituency).

The event ended with the election of a new steering committee.
