The government has announced an 8.45 average pay increase for civil servants but with a higher increase - 10% - for the lower paid. Overall this year the average rise fro civil servants has been 18.5% but 22.7% for the lower paid. Inflation in Turkey was 12.06% in the 12 months to July.

Energy unions negotiate 4.2% increase for lower paid
Workers in the private energy sector will see their basic pay rise by 3.8%-4.2% with lower paid workers getting the higher percentage increase. The agreement covers 21,000 employees and runs for 12 months from 1 February 2012. The GPA-DJP services union thanked members and works council members for their work in support of the claim. The agreement also includes arrangements for the unions and employers to look at age-related issues around pay, shift work and arduous employment as well as analysing gender equality aspects of the collective agreement. Private sector agreement delivers for lower paid
Following targeted strike action, trade unions covered by the main private sector agreement with the NHO employers’ organisation have negotiated an hourly increase of NOK 7.5 (€0.65) for all workers plus an extra NOK 3.00 (€0.25) for the lower paid. The lower paid are categorised as workers in collective agreements where the average wage is 90% of the industry-wide average wage. For workers where pay is below 90% of the industry average and where there is no local bargaining the additional increase will be NOK 4.00 (€0.35). The LO trade union confederation sees this as one of the best deals
Low paid civil servants benefit from equal pay deal
The NIPSA public service union in Northern Ireland has negotiated an equal pay deal that will benefit around 13,000 low paid civil servants. Workers in three main grades will move on to new pay structures with the changes adding around £25 million to the civil service pay bill. Administrative workers in the AA grade, for example, will move from a pay structure with a range of £13,130-£14,420 a year to one where the salaries start at £13,280 and rise to £17,108.
