(29 August 2011) When talking about environmental services, people think of waste management, renewable energy or water supply, but far less of recycling, river basin management or forest management and flood protection. Environmental services are a growth industry. Public Services unions must be present in this industry to protect workers’ interests and support them in providing a quality public service. As well as representing workers, EPSU cooperates with environmental organisations to tackle climate change and advocate for a sound European environmental policy that creates decent jobs.
