Negotiating the best deal at every level
Collective bargaining is a core activity of trade unions. EPSU’s affiliates negotiate with employers at workplace, sector and national levels to deliver better pay and conditions for public service workers. EPSU has two main tasks; firstly to contribute to the improvement of pay and working conditions for all public service workers in Europe, and secondly to act as a European information point so that EPSU affiliates are aware of trends in public service negotiations. The main item on the agenda was the response of the ETUC to the First Phase Consultation of Social Partners under Article 154 TFEU on a possible action addressing the challenges related to fair minimum wages.
Thirty-five participants from 18 countries met in Brussels on 30 January to discuss the European Commission’s consultation document on fair minimum wages and the ETUC’s draft response.
