Health workers and unions protest against anti-union practices of the ORPEA group in Germany

(28 September 2018) Today health workers and their trade unions organise a protest and mobilisation in Berlin against the anti-union practices of the ORPEA multinational care company. Jan Willem Goudriaan, General Secretary of EPSU, will be one of the speakers, together with colleagues from ver.di.

EPSU and the EPSU affiliates support those that have been on strike for several weeks to protest against the anti-union policies of ORPEA's Germany subsidiary CELENUS. They are joining forces to demand that the ORPEA Group respects trade union rights and its employees' right to organise. They also call on the company to commit to adequate numbers of qualified personnel, with good working conditions, in a safe and healthy working environment and decent wages.

You can read the letter of solidarity (in DE, FR and EN; letter of SANITAS, Romania) for the German workers and ver.di colleagues.

Please find more information on union rights violations by German subsidiary of French multinational ORPEA that EPSU and its affiliates are jointly challenging.
