Last month EPSU organised a series of online meetings on recruitment and organising with 10 of its affiliates from Romania and Moldova.

Last week, the European Social Partners in the gas sector held a joint webinar, hosted by MEPs Agnes Jongerius (S&D) and Dennis Radtke (EPP), on the transition to climate neutrality and the need to ensure that is just for the workers in the gas sector.

Like in other constituencies unions were reporting on the impact of the Corona-virus pandemic on their countries.

On October 23rd, the Recruitment and Organising Network and the Youth Network organized a webinar titled "Do young workers really NOT want to join trade unions".

The pandemic is raging in several of the countries in the constituency.

EPSU is recruiting an experienced Organising and Campaigns Officer to support national trade union organising and recruitment strategies in Eastern Europe and to strengthen the voice and influence of public service workers.

The measures to contain the pandemic are leaving deep traces in the countries of North East Europe even though there are large differences.

On 18 June 20 trade union activists and officers from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey took part in a webinar on organizing and recruitment. It was third online meeting prepared and run by the EPSU’s recruitment and organising team.

At the end of May more than 60 trade union leaders, officers and activists took part in two webinars on organizing and recruitment. The two online meetings - “Building union power in a crisis” – were prepared and run by the EPSU’s recruitment and organising team.

EPSU organizing and campaigns officer, Miloš Vlaisavljević took part in the Organizing 2.0 conference (17-18 April). Normally, an annual event taking place in New York, this year the online conference involved activists from across the world.

“Trade unions in transformation” is a useful online course on trade union renewal run as part of the Global Trade Union Programme (GTUP) of the German-based Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES).
