Salaries for healthcare workers will increase by between 7% and 10% early next year following an agreement between the LVSADA union and the Ministry of Health. The two sides finally agreed the deal after strike action by health workers and with the government allocating an extra €10 million to finance the increases.

Ver.di has secured a €30 per month increase (average 1.1%) for workers at the KfH-GML health company. This was after challenging negotiations with the KfH management pushing for a pay freeze, lay-offs and restructuring. The deal includes special arrangements to support those who are asked to change jobs as part of the restructuring process. The company employs over 7,000 workers across Germany. Outsourced health workers get pay rise
Public service union UNISON reports that the Medirest private company will give its 2,200 staff, who provide cleaning, portering and catering services in NHS hospitals across England, will see their pay increase by an average of 5% from the beginning of June. The lowest pay rate will rise from £8.75 (EUR 9.80) to £9.21 (EUR 10.30) an hour, bringing it in line with the minimum rate for directly employed health workers.
Union gets 3.55% rise for health workers
The VIDA services union has negotiated a 3.55% pay increase for employees at the Josefstadt and Döbling private clinics. VIDA’s federal secretary for the sector, Rudolf Wagner, said that it had been important for the union to secure a pay rise for the 530 workers that was in line with pay awards in the rest of the sector.
