ETUC expects at least 35,000 for pay demonstration in Ljubljana
The ETUC is planning for around 35,000 workers to support its demonstration over pay in Slovenia on 5 April. The demonstration is part of the ETUC's current campaign on fair pay and will highlight shrinking purchasing power, wage moderation and pay inequalities across Europe. Municipal workers demonstrate against pay freeze
More than 5000 local government workers in 70 municipalities in the Lower Austria region took part in meetings on 24 June in protest at the pay freeze that has been imposed for 2013. The meetings agreed resolutions calling on the regional and federal government to open negotiations with the trade unions with a view to a pay increase that would at least compensate for inflation. The GDG-KMSfB will call a major demonstration in September if it doesn't receive a positive response from the employers.
