Trade union membership is dropping in many countries in Europe. Union density is sometimes very low. EPSU and ETUI-Education organised a seminar to consider the problems facing unions recruiting new members. The representatives also considered methods to focus on recruitment and organising (ensuring active members and dealing with work place issues) including Mapping the work place. This method focuses on identifying trade union work (active or not) and non-members at a work place, and systematically following up. Colleagues went through an activity in developing a good campaign and steps of strategic campaign planning.
