The Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp and Uil Fpl public service federations are continuing their actions in protest at the failure of the Aiop and Aris employer organisations to ratify the agreement covering 100000 workers in private healthcare. After lengthy negotiations the agreement - the first for 14 years - was finalised in June but then the employers refused to ratify it. A national demonstration on 5 August was followed on 24 August by protests across the country in front of regional authorities that provide some of the funding for private care and on 31 August there will be demonstrations in front of the offices of the employer organisation. Strike action is likely to follow.

Unions maintain their campaign over pay and collective agreement
January will see further action by the STAL municipal services union and the Fiquemetal industrial union as they continue to campaign to the get the AdP water company to abide by and properly implement the collective agreement negotiated in 2018. The unions are also calling for pay increases for AdP workers and application of an allowance for arduous work. The two unions have been coordinating action and organised a joint national strike in June with a range of demands including a €90 pay increase, measures on career development and cuts to working time.
Union maintains campaign over childcare regulations
Following strike action on 8 April, the CGT local and regional government federation is continuing its campaign against new regulations on childcare. The union argues that the changes will reduce the level of trained staff required at a crèche, a matter of concern not just for the workers in the sector but also for parents. The union is preparing for further strike action on 6 May and a national demonstration on 29 May and is also urging local councils to protest against the new regulations and to refuse to implement them. Confederations maintain their pay campaign
The three trade union confederations – ACV/CSC, ABVV/FGTB, and ACLVB/CGLSB are continuing their campaigns around pay and their calls to reform the law on salaries that imposes limits on the pay increases that trade unions can negotiate. The confederations are highlighting the impact of surging inflation on workers and are putting pressure on the employers and government to address the problem, deliver fair pay and revise the law that sets the wage norm. A series of actions were organised around the country on 22 April and a national demonstration is planned for 20 June.
