(11 October 2018) The Greek trade union of workers in the culture ministry are staging a 24 hour strike 11 October. The workers protest that the government is considering transferring the archaeological sites such as the Acropolis and Knossos (Crete) to the super privatisation fund. The assets in this fund can be sold or commercialised to pay back the debt of Greece to the European institutions and Member States. The union and Adedy state that such historical monuments and places are not to be privatised and belong to the public domain. The union demands that the Greek government commits to keep these sites in public ownership . EPSU has sent a letter of solidarity.
