EPSU Solidarity message to Croatian childcare workers – for decent pay and pensions

Public Sector Workers need a pay rise logo

(11 June 2018) Workers in childcare have physically demanding work, are exposed to stressful situations and burn-outs are common making an increase of the pension age to 67 impossible to accept, says SOMK, the Croatian union of workers in child care, culture and education. SOMK is organising protest actions in Zagreb and Rijeka on 14 June. The union beliveves that instead of making people work longer for lower pensions, the government should find other ways to make pensions sustainable than letting people work longer for lower pensions. The union demands action on tax evasion, the grey economy and wages.
