Further to our first notice call for a Seminar of European level Border Guards organised by Finnish affiliate
Pardia and the Union of Finnish Border Guards in cooperation with EPSU sent on 15 July 2010 we can now
confirm that Pardia has obtained EU funding for this event which is planned for approximately 30
participants.
This means that interpretation will be available in English, Finnish and German.

The EIRO industrial relations observatory reports that the border guards' dispute was resolved with a pay offer worth 6.1% over two years. However, as part of the deal guards will be covered by a new pay structure based more on individual workloads and performance. Read more at > EIRO
State employees' union ROTAL organised a picket at government buildings this month in protest at the treatment of border guards and particularly at low levels of pay in comparison to the highest paid workers in the service. Read more at > EPSU
The Service and the State Employees’ Union of Ukraine (SEUU) has signed a new three-year agreement covering the protection of labour, social and economic rights of border guards. The agreement aims to improve working conditions, professional development, training and skills. It also covers health and safety, wages and working time. The SEUU sees this as an important agreement covering more than 7,000 workers in around 50 units.
