Fire service workers in Italy are taking a second day of strike action in protest at the government's proposed reorganisation of the service which would leave it with less autonomy and reduce the role of the union. Around 75% of workers supported the first strike and there was a large turnout for the national demonstration.

Around 600 youth workers gathered in The Hague on 29 November as part of day of national strike action organised by the FNV trade union. This followed an earlier one-day strike on 11 November. The workers gathered in The Hague to watch a debate on the funding of youth work in parliament. The union is calling for urgent action to increase funding in order to tackled the pressure on workers with growing waiting lists and an increase in people leaving youth work because of stress and burnout from overwork. The campaign against privatisation of NHS Logistics has continued with another 24-hour strike at the end of September. Public services union UNISON also took the fight to the Labour Party conference and won a resolution condemning creeping privatisation in the health service and specifically demanding that the NHS Logistics sale to the DHL delivery company be stopped.
