Public Conference - Care Workers on the Coronavirus Frontline – translating their experiences into better care and better working conditions

Care Workers on the Coronavirus Frontline Event

We are glad to invite you to a conference on Care Workers on the Coronavirus Frontline – translating their experiences into better care and better working conditions.

This online event will take place on Tuesday 4 May,  from 09.30h-13.00h CET.
We are organizing this conference together with Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung (FES), the Foundation for European Progressive Studies, Kommunal and Arena Idé.

At the event we will launch a report by FES, Arena Idé and Kommunal on the experience of workers in long-term care during COVID-19.  The report highlights the heroic efforts of care workers as well as the importance of trade unions during the pandemic.  It underscores existing deficiencies in long-term care and addresses the need for a change in our models of care towards well-funded public care services with good working conditions and sufficient staffing.

The event will be held shortly before the Social Summit in Porto on 7 May, to underline that the problems of care workers are similarly felt across Europe. The event will be an opportunity to hear from, and discuss with, care workers, trade unionists and representatives of European / international institutions.

You can register to participate by clicking on the link BELOW.

The event will be held on the zoom online platform, and will be live-streamed on facebook.

Translation will be available from and to English, German, Swedish, Portuguese and Polish.

The link to connect will be sent to registered participants only a few days before the event.
