The vida services union has just negotiated a 2% pay increase for employees of convent-run hospitals across the country. The new agreement takes effect from 1 March and with additional elements such as better holiday and Christmas pay the overall package is worth 2.5%. The minimum wage in the agreement has now reached €1450.

(January 2017) Public sector unions signed a new collective agreement with the government last month providing for a 6% pay rise. The increase will be paid in three instalments - 2% from 1. January,2%1.August and 2% 1.November. This was part of an agreement that pay would increase once the economy grew by at least 2% over two quarters. SDLSN union leader Boris Plesa reported on these developments at the EPSU collective bargaining conference on 10-11 January.
Action delivers for hospital workers
Following industrial action and the first ever national hospital strike, trade unions have negotiated a new 27-month collective agreement that includes a 5% pay increase from 1 January 2020 and a further 3% from 1 January 2021. Strike delivers better pay deal for gas workers
After six weeks of strike action the CGT trade union has secured a monthly increase of €200 for workers in the GRDF gas distribution company.
