The Cyprus Turkish Civil Cervants Trade Union (KTAMS) held a one–hour token strike on 17 July in protest at unfair employment practices at the Central Bank of North Cyprus. The union argued that the Bank had taken on employees and assigned some as managers without following the proper procedures, particularly in regard to equal opportunities.

Health unions challenge recruitment policy
Both the IMPACT and SIPTU trade unions have questioned the Health Service Executive’s (HSE) current recruitment policy. IMPACT argues that the HSE is not filling a range of specialist posts despite these being exempted from the recruitment freeze. It is also concerned about an increased use of agency staff. Meanwhile, SIPTU has expressed concern about the HSE delaying confirmation of new appointments in order to balance hospital budgets. Culture workers take action over grading and recruitment
The FSC-CCOO public services federation organised a protest outside the General Directorate of Public Administration on 15 October in anticipation of a series of one-day strikes by theatre and museum staff. The dispute is over two issues. The first is the demand that museum security staff should be on the E2 pay grade and not the only group of workers stuck on the E1 grade. The second issue relates to access to technical jobs at the INAEM cultural agency and the failure to recognise certain training and qualification. FSC-CCOO argues that the INAEM should be fully integrated into the IV
