Police staff in Scotland strike for first time

Over 3,000 staff providing technical and administrative support to the police in Scotland took strike action for the first time ever last month. The workers voted by more than two to one in favour of industrial action. They had been offered increases of 2.95% and 2.5% in a two-year pay deal but are demanding at least 3% in line with pay increases already awarded to police officers.
