The Common Front of trade unions in public administration have agreed to maintain their campaign against the government in 2007. They are resisting attacks on their working conditions including attempts to increase working hours and cut jobs. They are also campaigning against privatisation and the undermining of public services. A national meeting is planned for 10 January 2007 for leaders, delegates and trade union activists. There will be a forum in favour of quality public services on 22 February and a national demonstration or strike could follow in the first few months of the year.

Anti-"slave" law campaign continues
In the latest stage of the trade union campaign against the "slave" law that allows employers to signficantly increase overtime work, the MASZSZ confederation has asked the European Commission to intervene. The confederation believes that the increase on the overtime limit to 400 hours a year and the possibility for compensation for additional hours to be spread over 36 months could be in contravention of the Working Time Directive and it wants the European Commission to investigate.
Confederation continues campaign on pay
On 30 November, with a demonstration outside parliament, the CITUB trade union confederation maintained its campaign on pay, minimum wages and public sector salaries. The campaign began in September and included a joint demonstration with the Podkrepa confederation on 11 November. CITUB is calling for higher pay for all workers in response to the cost-of-living crisis and it wants the government budget for 2023 to allow for a pay increase for public sector workers of at least 13%.
