CGT quits EDF safety body

The FNME-CGT energy federation has decided to withdraw from the National Council on Workplace Safety (CNST) that was set up a year ago by the EDF energy company. The council was a replacement for two previous health and safety bodies that were dissolved when EDF’s status changed from being a fully nationalized company. The CGT argues that the new body does not have the same powers as the committees which it replaced and that the debates in the CNST are restricted and controlled by the employers.
