The FNME-CGT energy sector federation has attached the EDF and GDF-Suez companies for the intimidation and disciplining of union activists who took part in strikes and demonstrations to defend pay, employment and working conditions earlier this year. Over 200 union members have been targeted by the companies with four from the Toulouse region sacked for their involvement in the action. The union has also criticized the intervention of government ministers who have endorsed the companies’ actions against the union activists.

Strikers take protest to Zürich
Striking workers are maintaining their protests against the ISS cleaning multinational that terminated the collective agreement covering employees at Geneva Airport. Earlier this month the strikes, supported by local trade unionists, protested outside the ISS offices in Zürich. Strikers take direct action
After five weeks on strike employees of the Charité Facilities Management (CFM) company have taken their campaign to the Berlin high street with a leafletting and sit-down protest in the Dussman book and music store. The store is owned by the Dussman group, a multinational service company that part owns CFM. The strikers' basic demand is simply to have a collective agreement and higher pay for non-medical staff.
