Union negotiates new deal for Red Cross workers

After two rounds of collective bargaining, the ver.di trade union has agreed a new 26-month deal with the German Red Cross covering around 50000 employees.  Members have until June 15 to vote on the agreement which runs to 31 May 2025. From 1 August this year there will be a €1200 tax-free payment which employers can deliver in five instalments by the end of the year. In addition, workers will get €200  a month from September 2023 up to and including May 2024. There will be a pay increase of €200 plus 6% in June 2024. Various allowances are set to increase by 12% and there are also pay rises for trainees and interns. In order to increase the recruitment of trained staff, the agreement ensures a higher starting salary for emergency paramedics.

The public service federations - Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp and Uil Fpl - have signed a new three-year agreement with the Red Cross, running until 2022. The overall pay increase will be around 4.5%, with the increases of €23,56, implemented on 1.12.2020, 1.12.2021 and 1.9.22. There are several other elements in the agreement including strengthening second level bargaining; the recognition of time taken to change into/out of uniforms as working time; the introduction of paid sick leave to look after children and revaluations of certain professions. Red Cross workers agree on 3.4% pay rise

Members of the ver.di services union employed by the Red Cross have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a pay settlement agreed after arbitration. Workers will get a 1.5% increase as of 1 April 2021 with a minimum guarantee of EUR 50 per month. The increase in April 2022 will be 1.9% and trainees will get increases of EUR 40 in each year. Workers will also get a COVID bonus depending on their pay level – this ranges from EUR 225 to EUR 600. The agreement includes increases in allowances such as shift pay and measures for specific workers including paramedics, nurses and day-centre staff

Pay deal for workers in private and non-profit sectors and pensions win in Red Cross

Public sector unions have negotiated a wage settlement with the Virke employers’ organisation that includes private and non-profit companies delivering public services. The deal is in line with the settlement in the government sector, with a 2.7% pay increase but with a flat rate payment of NOK 1,500 (EUR 145) at all salary levels, backdated to 1 May. In addition, there is NOK 4,000 (EUR 390) for the lower paid and an equal pay supplement starting at NOK 3,800 (EUR 370) and falling by NOK 200 (EUR 20) for each move up the salary scale.
