Unions continue actions in justice ministry and accident insurance institute

The three public service federations – FP-CGIL, CISL-FP and UIL-PA – continue to mobilise their members in both the Ministry of Justice and the INAIL institute that provides compensation for workplace accidents. While progress has been made at the Ministry of Justice and some agreements signed the unions are concerned that there is no further commitment to negotiate on a new collective agreement and on some specific issues such as smart working. Meanwhile, at the INAIL members of FP-CGIL, CISL-FP and UIL-PA have organized actions around the country, including an occupation of the main offices in their campaign to secure increased staffing and measures to address stress and overwork.

Dispute in Ministry of Justice continues

The FSC-CCOO federation organised protest rallies on 20 and 21 March in its continuing dispute with the Ministry of Justice, marking almost a year since the union began a series of strike actions. The federation is seeking a salary increase for all staff in general and special bodies, negotiations on the Efficiency Law which has implications for workers’ pay and conditions, proper recognition of functions and career development. Ministry of Justice unions continue mobilisations

Following their national protest on 22 November, the FSC-CCOO, FesP-UGT and other unions in the Ministry of Justice have taken further action to support their demand for negotiations around the law on organizational efficiency in the justice service. Justice ministry strike continues

The four trade unions involved in the Ministry of Justice dispute - CCOO, UGT, CSI-CSIF and STAJ - have decided to continue their strike as the government has failed to make an adequate response to their demands. The main issue at stake is the significant pay disparity between workers directly employed by the Ministry and those who have been transferred to the regions. Unions estimate that over 60,000 legal cases have been postponed as a result of the all-out strike that began on 4 February.
