Average pay increase of 14% for unionised health workers

The LSADPS health workers’ union reports that its members in public health will benefit from pay rises of around 14% from the beginning of this month. This is based on the collective agreement negotiated by the LSADPS and eight other health sector trade unions in 2021 and updated in October of last year. Along with higher basic pay there are increases to the coefficients on which salaries are based and these will apply to the members of the trade unions that have signed the agreement. The average increase for all health staff will be around 8%.

Unionisation still high in public sector

Poland

A recent study on social dialogue in Poland indicates that levels of union membership and coverage by collective agreements remain high in the public sector. However, workers in health and education are face worse pay and conditions than those available in the private sector. Health sector sees higher than average increases

Estonia

Average gross hourly pay in health and social services is 36.9% higher in the first quarter of 2008 than it was in the first quarter of 2007 according to the latest figures from the Estonian statistics agency. This compares to the 20.5% increase in average hourly pay across the whole economy. Average hourly pay in health and social services is now 76.55 Kroons, just ahead of the 74.74 average for the whole economy. Read more at > Statistics Estonia (EN)

Public sector deal delivers 3% average pay rise

Austria

The annual pay negotiations that cover the public sector have resulted in an average pay increase of 3% which will also apply to allowances and other pay additions. Lower paid workers will actually see their pay rise by 3.22% with a 2.91% applied to higher salaries. The increases come into effect on 1 January 2022. The increase is the highest for more than 10 years and ahead of the inflation rate up to September 2020 which forms one of the agreed bases for the negotiations.
