23-month agreement in local government finally agreed

The new collective agreement covering 420000 local government workers, including health care was finally agreed at the end of May and runs from 1.4.2020 to 28.2.2022. There will be a pay rise of 1.22% or at least 26 Euro on 1 August this year, followed by a further 1% on 1 April 2021. There is also a sum of 0.8% to be agreed at local level, valid from 1 April 2021. The annual 24 unpaid extra working hours agreed as part of a "competitiveness" pact with the then government in 2016 will end on 30 August this year. From September 2021 there will be a separate agreement covering healthcare workers as called for by the TEHY and Super trade unions. Unions were disappointed that the employers didn't agree to a COVID-19 bonus but this has not been completely ruled out.

New 23-month agreement for social workers

The ABVAKABO and CNV unions have negotiated a new collective agreement covering social workers with the local authority employers' organisation. The agreement runs from 1 January 2006 to 1 November 2007. Pay increases during this period will be 1.1% (backdated to 1.1.06), 1.1% from 1 January 2007 and 0.6% from 1 July 2007. Finally! An agreement in local government

After strike action and demonstrations on 18 June and 18 months of on-and-off negotiations, unions have finally lead to a new collective agreement covering the 165000 workers in local government. The agreement is backdated to 1 January 2013 and will run until 1 January 2016. There is a 1% pay increase from 1 October 2014 and a €50 a month flat-rate increase from 1 April 2015 that will in effect mean a 4% rise for the lowest paid and around 2.5% for those on average pay. Unions aim for more full-time work in local government negotiations

Negotiations are underway in local government and while unions are aiming for a real pay increase they are also setting their sights on improvements in other working conditions. They want more investment in competence development and training during working time. However, a key demand is for more full-time work.
