GPA-djp and vida, the two unions that organise workers in private health care, are organising actions around the country in the lead up to the fifth round of negotiations on 10 February. The sector collective agreement covers 125000 workers and the unions want to see a 35-hour week with no compensating reduction in pay. At the fourth round of bargaining the employers refused to discuss the claim and made no offer themselves and so the unions decided to organise actions to show the strength of feeling on the issue.

Mar. 21, 2018 Services union ver.di is organising warning strikes across the country in the lead-up to the third round of negotiations covering federal and local government which are due to begin on 15 April. With no concrete pay offer from the employers at the second round of negotiations, ver.di argues that the warning strikes are needed to put pressure on them to take a constructive approach at the bargaining table. The union wants a pay rise of 6% with a EUR 200 a month minimum increase to help the low paid. For ver.di it is crucial to increase pay to make jobs in the sector more attractive and keep pay in line with developments in the private sector.
Sep. 09, 2020 The Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp and Uil Fpl public service federations have called a national strike in private health care for 16 September. This is the latest step in their campaign to put pressure on the Aiop and Aris employer organisations to sign the sector agreement that was initially agreed on 10 June after three years of negotiations. Despite endorsements from the Ministry of Health and the regional authorities that play a key role in funding the sector, the employers refused to ratify the agreement saying there were not enough guarantees. The strike follows action on 31 August when the unions organised demonstrations outside the employers' head offices.
May. 09, 2008 The three main trade union federations are uniting in a national demonstration on 9 May demanding renewal of the collective agreement covering 150,000 workers in the private health sector.
