Pay rise for staff working for overseas forces

Following three negotiating rounds and a series of warning strikes, services union ver.di has secured a 2.4% pay increase for the 17000 workers employed by overseas military stationed in Germany. The agreement runs for 12 months and is backdated to 1 September. The union sees this as a reasonable outcome in view of the cuts being implemented by the respective military authorities.
