Fagforbundet and the other local government unions in the LO confederation have set out their key bargaining demands for 2012. They are looking for compensation for inflation with increases to help the lower paid and close the gender pay gap as well as higher pay for working unsocial hours. The union will ensure they take account of the particular interests of young workers, graduates and temporary workers. They are calling on municipalities to directly employ more workers rather than rely on agency staff and they want higher starting pay rates and career development plans to make the local government sector a more attractive place to work.

Unions submit demands for 2016 negotations
The Frente Comum of public service unions, including local government union STAL, has set out its list of key demands for negotiations in 2016. Central to the unions' claim is restoration of the pay and conditions that have been cut or frozen since austerity measures were implemented in 2011. Unions submit main demands in non-profit sector
The unions that organise around 50,000 workers in the non-profit sector in Wallonia and the French community have submitted (CNE- CG- CSC/BI – FGTB/HORVAL- SETCa) have submitted a number of demands to employers covering pay and employment conditions. The unions point out that their members deliver a range of vital health and social services, demand for which is increasing as a result of the current crisis. Union confederation submits pay claim to private employers
The blue collar LO confederation has put forward a pay claim to the Spekter employers’ organisation that covers workers in health, transport and other public services employed in the public sector. The claim includes real wage growth and a general increase of NOK 2438 (€323). The unions also want to see better conditions for temporary agency workers, improved pay for working unsocial hours and action to improve working conditions for older workers.
