Living wage in London increases to £8.30 an hour

The living wage, as calculated by the Greater London Authority (GLA), is now at £8.30 (€9.42). The amount is a cost-of-living calculation and is used by the GLA as a minimum pay rate for contractors. There are now 3,000 workers employed by companies with contracts with the GLA who are guaranteed the living wage. Other public institutions around London also apply the living wage in their countries, including most recently London Metropolitan University.
