Health unions set out eight-point plan for hospitals

The FOA public service union along with four other organisations representing 200,000 health workers has drawn up an eight-point plan for long-term improvements in the healthcare system. The unions argue that workers need to be properly trained and should focus on their appropriate tasks and competences. This means doctors and nurses concentrating on treatment while white-collar workers tackle the relevant administrative tasks. The plan also calls for a more transparent and effective financial management system and the improvement of trust and co-operation between workers and management.

Unions set out claim for hospital negotiations

The hospital sector collective agreement expires on 1 March and EPSU affiliates FNV Abvakabo, CNV Publieke Zaak and Nu'91 have agreed on their main demands. In order to protect workers' purchasing power the unions are asking for a pay increase of 3%. Federations set out their agenda and plan mobilisation

The public service federations have had a meeting with the public service minister following general elections in Spain earlier this year. They set out a number of their main short- and medium-term demands and called for negotiations to get under way as soon as possible. The federations, FSAP-CCOO, FSP-UGT and CSI-CSIF, are considering some form of mobilisation towards the end of the month to emphasise what they see as an urgent need to address the issue of decent and fair pay across public administration. Health unions set out plans for next stage of strike action

The Tehy and SuPer nurses’ unions have confirmed the dates for the second period of industrial action following the first set of strikes launched on 1 April. The next stage will begin on 20 April and end on 4 May and will affect specialised medical care in 13 hospital districts, with approximately 35,000 nurses on strike. The postponement is to allow the Conciliation Committee sufficient time for mediation.
