Geneva canton may face further strike action
The SSP/VPOD public service union is one of a number of unions that have taken strike action against cuts proposed by the government of the Geneva canton (region). The unions argue that nothing like this has been seen since the 1930s. The initial strike action was suspended in the expectation of revised proposals from the regional government but it has yet to come up with any alternatives
