The pay element of the national agreement between the Irish social partners has been finalised with workers set to get a 10% pay increase over the next 27 months. Public servants and staff in non-commercial semi-state bodies will get 3% on 1 December 2006, 2% on 1 June 2007, 2.5% on 1 March 2008 and 2.5% on 1 September 2008. Lower paid workers (those on €10.25 an hour or less) will get an extra 0.5%. As before, workers and unions must co-operate with modernisation and change measures to qualify for the increases.

Energy agreement includes 3.2% pay increase for 2011
Energy and services union ver.di has signed a new 19-month collective agreement in the energy sector that covers 30,000 employees, mainly those of the E.ON energy company. There will be a 3.2% increase on 1 June and then 1.7% on 1 June 2012. The increases also apply to apprentices. Ver.di sees the deal as reasonable and in line with other agreements in the sector. Municipal agreement includes 2.4% increase in first year
The new collective agreement for some 350,000 municipal employees has been endorsed, following the cross-sectoral framework agreement signed in October. The agreement takes effect on 1 January 2012 and expires on 28 February 2014. The increase in the first 13 months will be 2.4%. This includes 1.7% from 1 January 2012 with the remaining 0.7% of the pay increase used for financing qualitative changes in the agreement such as six days of paid paternity leave and the scrapping of regulations that have discriminated against temporary employees with regard to their annual leave rights. Energy workers to get 10.5% increase over 19 months
The ver.di and IGBCE trade unions have negotiated a new pay agreement covering around 25000 workers in 130 energy providers in Eastern Germany. Following an inadequate offer from the employers in mid-September, the unions organised warning strikes in seven cities and lengthy negotiations on 27 September finally lead to a settlement that delivers a 6% pay increase backdated to 1 September 2023 and a 4.5% increase on 1 November 2024.
