(20 September 2016) Confederation sent a letter to the government expressing its concerns about the text of the EU-Canada agreement called CETA. According to the Lithuanian unions CETA is a threat to European democratic decision-making, to small and local businesses and the public interest. The President of the Lithuanian Trade Unions Confederation Artūras Černiauskas stated that EU workers will suffer after signing the treaty.  It does not improve their situation, rather making it more unstable and unsafe. It makes it more insecure.  "I'm afraid that signing the CETA agreement will not stimulate economic growth, vice versa; we will get bankruptcies and redundancies", says President Černiauskas.
