After a series of warning strikes involving over 3000 workers, public service union ver.di has negotiated a new 28-month agreement covering 28000 employees of four university clinics in the Baden-Württemberg region. The deal is worth 7.1% paid in two stages (1 November 2019 and 1 February 2020). As a result of legislation that provides funding to ensure increased staffing of nursing and care personnel, these workers will get an extra EUR 200 a month. But ver.di has negotiated with the four hospitals to cover more occupations than those specified in the law.

Jan. 28, 2016 After more than a year of campaigning the FNV has agreed a new deal covering social work which is now out to members for consultation. The union is pleased that the agreement covers two important demands - job security and purchasing power. The agreement puts on obligation on municipalities to find alternative work if employees are made redundant. There is a commitment from the government to provide local authorities with funding to cover pay increases in the social work sector. The exact increases are not yet known but should maintain purchasing power over the course of the agreement. The year-end bonus will go up from 3% of annual salary to 3.75% and in March 2016, all employees will receive a lump sum of €325 (pro-rata for part-time employees). Apr. 13, 2017 (April 2017) Workers employed by a range of companies providing private and public services, including health and social care, are set to benefit from a new pay deal negotiated with the Spekter employers' organisation. There will be a basic increase of NOK 975 (EUR 110) a year with an additional NOK 2925 (EUR 320) for employees earning less than NOK 407265 (EUR 44820). In addition to these general increases there will be local pay rises that will be negotiated in the weeks up to the beginning of May.
Feb. 20, 2018 Unions in the municipal sector have negotiated a 26-month agreement that includes a 3.45% pay increase plus compensation for lost holiday entitlement. The pay increase will be implemented in three stages: on 1.5.2018 a general increase of 26 euros for salaries up to EUR 2080 a month and 1.25% above that. There then follows an increase of 1.2% on 1 January 2019 and 1% on 1 April 2019. In January 2019 employees will also get 9.2% of their monthly pay (average EUR 260) as compensation for lost holiday entitlement. In other sectors, including private kindergartens, negotiations have stalled and strike notices have been issued.
